This 3000 resident lumbering and mining town, about 165 km west of Sault Ste. Marie, is beside the concealed mouth of the Blind River into Lake Huron. The river is named for the fact its mouth appears hidden from a passing boat. This town provides tourist services to over 4 million people travelling along the Trans-Canda Highway. The town has a busy marina serving the North Channel, and a 9 hole golf course on the banks of the Mississagi River.
