Beaches
Numerous beach areas are located within Prince Edward Island National Park, from Cavendish to Dalvay. There are six supervised beaches in P.E.I. National Par, for those visitors who enjoy the additional peace of mind and security of having lifeguards on site.

Cavendish Campground Beach (Daily 11-5)

Cavendish Beach West (Daily 10-7)

North Rustico (Daily 11-5)

Brackley (Daily 10 -7)

Ross Lane (11-5)

Stanhope Main Beach (10-7).

Lifeguards are on duty from late June to late August. White sand and blue seas abound. Dogs are not allowed on the beach. Please observe all the cautionary signage on the beaches for hazards such as rip tides. You are responsible for your children while they are on the beach.
There is a growing demand for small pleasure craft and personalized water craft. If you plan to rent one or have your own, please be aware that these conveyances are governed by the Small Vessel Regulations and the Criminal Code of Canada (especially regarding drinking & boating). Operation without the proper emergency gear, operating in a careless manner or operating while impaired all carry very stiff penalties. For the safety of swimmers, use of any motor craft within 500 metres of any supervised beach is prohibited.

Boating

There are opportunities for canoeing and kayaking in the park on the various ponds as well as in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Enjoy beautiful scenary and serenity. Motorized watercraft are not permitted within the National Park boundaries.

Cross-country Skiing
Certain trails in the park are tracked during the winter months for cross-country skiing. Warm-up shelters are nearby as well as limited washroom facilities.

Skating
Weather conditions permitting, during the winter months skating areas are cleared in Dalvay near the administration building and at Green Gables.

Picnicking
The park has several picnic areas with shelters, toilets and drinking water on site at Dalvay, Stanhope Cape, Cape Turner and North Rustico. Brackley and Cavendish East.There are several day-use areas as well as Stanhope Beach, which also feature modern playground equipment.

Parks Canada protects a rare system of parabolic sand dunes and sites of Aboriginal, French and Acadian human occupation. The main exhibit hall highlights the natural and cultural features of the site and includes a large 3-D, in-floor model of the entire Greenwich peninsula. Learn about one of Canada's unique ecosystems and the importance of protecting these precious natural and cultural resources through exhibits and multi-media programs. Enjoy the three interpretive trails and beach facility located in the central area. Open year round. May 25-Oct 31, daily. May 25-June 20 and Aug 27-Oct 31, 9 am-5 pm; June 21-Aug 26, 9 am-8 pm. Nov-Apr, call for schedule. Park admission fee applies for trails and beach day use. Admission for Interpretation Centre on site. Advance notice appreciated for groups or motorcoach visits.
