    Alford Park
    This 3 acre park is on the water front. and includes a lighted waterfront walkway with benches and railing. Fishermen and sightseers use it equally. It also includes horseshoe pits and an outdoor skateboarding facility.

    Ashmun Bay Park
    This 36 acre park is just west of the city's downtown and offers the only major boat launch into the upper St Mary River.

    The Historic Walkway Project has been in planning since the early 1980's to restore and revitalize the historic attractions of the City of Sault Ste. Marie. It would help preserve the few remaining artifacts or examples of architecture that exist from the 17th or 18th century, including stories of the early travellers and explorers.

    The island has banned all motorized transport, allowing only horse-drawn carriages and bicycles. The island has a number of resorts, hotels and cottages. There are many shops in the walkable harbour district. Mackinac Island State Park is rated one of the ten best by National Geographic Magazine.

    This 32 acre park is Main ballfield facility in the community, with nine ball fields (fast pitch, slow pitch, softball, women's and little leagues), most have complete dugouts, bleachers, and restrooms

    Minneapolis Woods Recreation Area is the City's major outdoor winter recreational facility. The park has recently been enhanced by the addition of tubing runs and tow ropes for both the ski/snowboard hill and tubing runs. Minneapolis Woods alos has a heated chalet with a concession, and a view of the entire hill.
    In-Season open Tuesday-Thursday: 3pm to 9pm; Friday: 3pm to 10am; Saturday: 10am to 10pm; Sunday: 12pm to 9pm Admission: Adult $5 US, children $3 US. Children 5 and under are admitted free with a paid adult.

    This 3 acre park isl ocated with a great view of the lake carriers in the lower St. Mary's River. There are picnic tables, playground equipment, vault toilets and the ability to launch small boats.

    Sherman Park

    Sherman Park is a 68.7 acre park located on the upper St. Mary's
    River, and contains the City's only public beach. This park is open May 15-October 15 from 6:00am-11:00pm Park amenities include a campground, concessions, large pavilion, playground, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, a ballfield, and nature trails for walks and cross-country skiing.

    Whitefish Point Bird Observatory
    Located at Whitefish Point, to the west of the Sault.

    Lake Superior forms a natural funnel for migrating birds. Large number of raptors, waterfowl and shorebirds pass this point each spring and fall. Guided bird walks, banding demonstrations and other programs are offered. Open April 1 to October 15 from 10 am to 6 pm. Admission is free or by donation.
