Coaldale is a town in (population 8,000), located 11 km east of Lethbridge on the #3 Crowsnest Highway. Coaldale became a village in 1919 and then became incorporated as a town in 1952. The town has a Northeast Industrial Park

Alberta Birds of Prey Centre

This centre rehabilitates and releases injured birds of prey back to the wild. They also participate in captive breeding and release of endangered species like Burrowing Owls, and they study and monitor wild birds of prey populations and encourage positive habitat stewardship through increased public environmental awareness.

This Non-profit Society operates Coaldale’s museum and Scotiabank Art Gallery, dedicated to the preservation of Coaldale and district history and heritage. Exhibits cover topics like First Nations, Discover Main Street, Mennonite immigration from Russia in the 1920s, a Butcher Ship, a blacksmith shop, and a café. It is also the starting point for the Coaldale Heritage Walk. Admission $.
