Last year, we added itineraries and towns along the #3 Crowsnest Highway in Alberta and British Columbia.
The Crowsnest Highway (from west to east) passes through a number of towns close to the US-Canada border through rugged terrains both east and west of the Okanagan (famous for its many wineries) with bands of lush farmlands between, before crossing the Columbia Valley (twice!) then the southern Rockies and then the wide open Prairies. The Crowsnest Route connects with the main Trans-Canada Route at Hope, BC in its west end, and at Medicine Hat, AB at its eastern end.
This route adds links to Manning Provincial Park, the Okanagan Valley from Osoyoos north to Penticton, Kelowna and Vernon, and towns along the US border like Midway, Grand Forks, Christina Lake, and mountain towns like Castlegar, Nelson, Salmo, Trail, and Creston, and C0lumbia Valley towns like Kimberley, Cranbrook, and Canal Flats, BC Rockies towns like Fernie and Sparwood.
This route also ecompasses southern Alberta towns from the Crowsnest Pass and Pincher Creek, as well as Waterton Lakes to the south, and Claresholm, High River, Okotoks, and Diamond Valley on the Cowboy Trail to the north. Heading east, prairie towns like Fort Macleod, Monarch, Lethbridge, Taber, Bow Island and Medicine Hat
