On December 15, the Government of Canada announced the official advisory against Canadians travelling outside of the country for non-essential reasons.
Effective December 18, at 11:59 PM, the travel ban for 10 African countries will be lifted.
Effective December 21, the requirement for obtaining a negative pre-arrival test within 72hrs before entering Canada is reinstated for all travellers, regardless of the duration of the trip.
The Government of Canada is closely monitoring the situation and working with its international partners including the World Health Organization to better understand this variant and its impacts.
