Cape North lies at the northern tip of Cape Breton, just off the scenic Cabot Trail. The town lies just outside the boundaries of Cape Breton Highlands National Park.

Showcases exhibits of pioneer life and northern Cape Breton traditions. Contains photos of shipwrecks, construction of the Cabot Trail, the Canso Causeway and gypsum mining. Allow 30 minutes Open 10 am to 6 pm June to mid -October. Admission by donation.

Cape North

Take a 19 km road up the coast to St Margaret Village, Capstick and Meat Cove, for great ocean and mountain vistas. Pass Cabot’s Landing Provincial Park (see photo), believed to be the landing site of explorer John Cabot on Aspy Bay. You can take a hiking trail to the top of 442 metre (1450 ft) Sugar Loaf Mountain. Whale watching tours van be arranged from Meat Cove.
